CALLED TO BE DISCIPLES

The ASK group is exploring how Jesus called his disciples.We'll play games, have music and crafts, and hear stories to see how Jesus called the disciples on the Sea of Galilee and how He calls us today. Lots of fun activities are planned - come - see what's happening.

In our net of disciples in the fellowship hall we have the original disciples and the ASK children, We invite you to write your name on a fish to be added to our net. Fish are available on shelf in gathering area.

Wednesdays- 3:30PM till 5:00PM

followed by the Wednesday

meal -

5:00PM to 5:30PM.

The 5:00 Meal is for EVERYONE.

Children who want to stay after ASK, as well as their families, are invited to join us.

Youth who are are coming to youth group are invited.

Those who wish to contribute can check the sign-up list in the hall.

What happens at After School Kids @ NHUMC?

Service Projects
Involving the kids in thinking about and meeting the needs of others.

We’ve made cookies for those who are healing, candy trains for shoebox Christmas, painted new signs for Wesley Acres Camp, made appreciation cards for a presenter and decorated/sold cookies for the Heifer project.

Instructional Time
Discussion on values, Christian behavior, prayer, Bible verses…
These discussions regularly happen during our “opening” as we introduce the project or activity for the day.

Worship and Prayer

Music

Recreation
Generally this is more active game-type behavior which offers opportunities for encouraging Christian behavior.

Creative Projects -Arts and crafts

Fellowship
After school snack and informal discussion.
We try to greet each child with a personal, positive interaction. We encourage them to share the ups and downs of their day and let them know they are important individuals who deserve our attention.
