Easter’s Promise
In the bulb there is a flower; in the seed, an apple tree. We’re reminded of this Hymn of Promise as the huge snow piles in the parking lot are starting to shrink, and the flowers are poking through the ground. Coming home from Sioux Falls recently, there were thousands of birds in the fields and the air. The promise of spring is all around us.

In this season, we’re also reminded of the promise that is at the core of faith, that promise that we especially celebrate on Easter morning. In our end is our beginning. In our doubt, is our believing. In our death, a resurrection; at the last, a victory.

Natalie Sheeth got it right when she wrote the Hymn of Promise, celebrating the life, the cross, and the resurrection of our Lord and our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Happy Easter!
