Advent is the season that reminds us to examine who we are and where we are.
The song “O Come, O Come Emmanuel" reminds us that Advent is a journey
anticipating the active hope in the Second Coming of Christ.
We work so hard to let nothing faze us. Yet the reality of life happens.
Advent is a season of truth. We can’t isolate ourselves from the reality of our humanness.
We can’t isolate ourselves from the reality of the world around us.
During the Advent season we treasure that Christ has already come,
and that Christ will come again.
Jesus lived and taught and saved those willing to receive his message.
We draw strength and hope living as Christ taught,
and we draw strength and hope anticipating the coming again of Christ.
O Come, O Come Emmanuel.
Please join us for worship during this season of preparation as we prepare for,
and celebrate the coming of Jesus the Christ. (very loosely adapted from Safiyah Fosua) (GBOD)
