Making Disciples

Jesus gave the Great Commission.  Go.  Make disciples.

But what does this mean?  How do we know if we’re disciples?  How do we make disciples?

These are pretty broad questions.  One simple way I like to think about making disciples is growing in:

Loving God
          Loving Others
       and
      Serving the World.

Love God - We love God and grow in our relationship with God when we worship, pray, and take time for devotions.  We make disciples when we help people along in this process.

Love Others - We love others when we get together with people, especially in a community of faith, to talk about and wrestle with living and carrying out our faith.  We make disciples when we make time to discuss living our faith.

Serve the World - We serve the world when, because of our faith, we are awake to the need, the pain, and the hurt in the world, and we can’t help but seek out ways to act.  We make disciples when, filled with Christ, we act as Christ’s representatives in the world.

Jesus said:  Go.  Make disciples.

In Service with You,
