The Apostle Paul writes about the peace of God that surpasses all understanding. As we continue with our series Enough: Discovering Simplicity and Joy through Generosity, we’re looking at reaching for that peace.

This peace is not something we can easily explain, until we begin to experience it for ourselves. Being able to say, “Enough,” is one step toward that peace. One step toward trusting God with heart, mind, and soul. One step toward finding that deeper contentment that shapes the way we experience the world. My prayer is that as we continue, this is an opportunity to consider our faith, and to examine our priorities and our relationship with God. I hope, too, that you will find that the tools handed out during the early weeks of November are helpful.

At the end of November, we will conclude this series, and move into Advent, the season of preparation for Christmas.

The Worship Committee has been discussing the anticipation of the season and invites you to experience the following variation this year. You might notice that the first Sunday of Advent will not be completely decorated for Christmas. We will use the Advent Candle Wreath on this Sunday, but we will be taking a little more time, decoratively, to enjoy and experience Thanksgiving. Over the following weeks, the trees, wreaths, and other seasonal reminders will begin to fill the sanctuary and building. Week by week, the sanctuary will be transformed as anticipation grows and we prepare for celebrating the birth of our Lord and our Savior, Jesus the Christ.

I look forward to the journey together, preparing our hearts and minds, and living our faith with joy and an infectious enthusiasm as we share that hope that is at the core of our faith.
In Service with you,

Mark E
