The light of Transfiguration fades, and we begin the slow walk toward the cross.

This Wednesday, we enter the season of Lent with Ash Wednesday worship, a service of honesty, humility, and hope.

Ashes are not about shame. They are about truth. We remember that we are dust — beautifully formed, deeply loved, and entirely dependent on God’s grace. We name what is fragile in us. We confess what needs healing. And we receive the sign of the cross traced in ashes on our foreheads, a mark that says both mortality and mercy belong to us.

In a world that moves quickly and speaks loudly, Ash Wednesday invites us into something quieter.

  • Prayer that makes room for God

  • Silence that steadies the soul

  • A simple cross of ash and the words, “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.”

It is not a flashy service. It is not a long service. But it is an important one.

Lent is a journey inward and forward — toward repentance, renewal, and resurrection. Ash Wednesday is the first step. Join us as we begin this Lenten season together.

Come as you are. Leave marked by grace.
